No one knows why this movie is rated PG. I guess kids back in the day were accustomed to boobs, savage deaths, and so much blood. Probably because of the wars.
Just the idea of showing this to my 4 and 6 year olds (the ages my sisters and I were when it came out, I think)-- just fills me with so much parenting guilt that I shudder, my heart skips a beat and I have to remind myself to start breathing again. Shocking.

Heh! I remember thinking as a kid that the shark in The Little Mermaid was "too much."
